HELPFUL RESOURCES:

MINIMUM WAGE and SALARY INFORMATION:  All employees working in Australia are entitled to a minimum wage. This is the lowest amount an employee can be paid for the work that they’re doing.

For more information please visit the Minimum wage section on the Fair Work Australia website.

INTERNSHIPS, PLACEMENTS & UNPAID WORK:  Fair Work Ombudsman ruling on internships, vocational placements & unpaid work.  If you are offering UWA students internships, vocational placements or unpaid work, please read the attached sheet regarding the Fair Work Act.

For internship providers who charge a fee for service or fee for application, these positions do not meet our current terms and conditions and will not be approved.

HIRING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:  There are various visa options for employers wishing to hire international students.  For further information go to the Department of Home Affairs website.
