Safearth is seeking graduate engineers to join our team of expert consultants who lead the world in the field of power system earthing. We are looking for a candidate to fill our open position available in Perth.

Safearth is a world-class, nationally recognised specialist electrical engineering service provider to the power utility, industrial and mining sectors in the design testing and commissioning of HV power earthing systems, lightning protection and electric shock safety auditing and investigation.

The position will involve technical engineering, travel and site testing, client interfacing, and working with the broader Safearth team. Together, the team provides specialist consulting services in the following areas:

*Earthing system design

*Earthing system performance assessment

*Lightning protection system design and assessment

*Electrical shock safety auditing and incident investigation

*Complex electrical problem solving across instrumentation, power, pipe and communications systems

Essential Criteria

*Current enrolment in a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent

*Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

*Current Australian Driver’s License

Desirable Experience

*Preferably studying 4th year and a basic understanding of power system and electromagnetic theory

*Proven analytical and problem solving skills

*Understanding of hazard and risk assessment process and risk based design principles

*Possess highly developed oral and written communication skills including report writing.

*Work well independently, as well as in small or large teams

*Be motivated to travel state and Australia wide regularly for short durations.

The training period will be catered to the individual and will be based on a peer – mentorship basis.
