Do you have an idea for a project to make a real difference in your community? Then apply for the Frank Wilson Scholarship.


Scholarships of up to $5000 are available now to help you bring to life your idea for a project that will make a difference in the community.

These scholarships for active citizens will give you the chance to approach your university experience in a fundamentally different way by connecting directly with your community and making a real impact.

What type of projects will be considered?

Proposed projects should support the McCusker Centre for Citizenship’s vision of fostering caring, connected and socially engaged citizens who actively contribute to the wellbeing of their communities. Suitable projects will:

  • Meet a community need
  • Be delivered within 12 months of the grant being awarded

Example Projects

  1. Student A would like to develop an app for people with disabilities
  2. Student B is researching gender issues and family violence and would like to develop community resources for women experiencing family violence
  3. Student C would like to write a paper for a conference concerned with a social issue (s)
  4. Student D would like to organise a conference or seminar series on a topic that enhances active citizenship

It is strongly recommended that you attend an information session from 1-2pm on Tuesday 17 October 2017. This will provide you with helpful assistance to enable you to make your application.
